Dr. Randy Cybulski, DC

For over 15 years, Dr. Randy Cybulski has successfully treated thousands of patients and countless injuries. His background in sports and medicine made the idea of teaming up with Dr. Hal Richart at Richart Sports & Spinal Rehab the easiest decision he has ever made. Dr. Cybulski wants to help as many people as possible, and he knew that Dr. Richart’s extensive understanding as a chiropractic sports physician, as well as his multi-disciplinary facility, would prove to be the ideal environment for that to happen. With his experience, Dr. Randy is an expert in the realm of biomechanics and proprioception; maintaining, correcting, and improving these aspects could help just about anyone FEEL BETTER. Dr. Randy is a lifetime student in the martial arts, and he put in his time improving his balance and flexibility. He believes this had worked to his advantage, having played a collision sport for many years and never sustaining a major injury. So biomechanics and balance, mixed with the healing and wellness aspects of chiropractic and physical therapy allows him to have great success in treating his patients.

Dr. Cybulski chose the path he wanted to pursue back in high school. As a multi-sport student athlete with high honors, he was fortunate enough to get recruited to play football at the collegiate level. In college, Randy received his Bachelor’s of Science degree, was a student athlete and 4 year starter on the football team at Culver-Stockton University in Canton, MO. He was the only player on the team to take on a double major in pre-med and sports medicine, with a minor in philosophy. He was also a student athletic trainer all 4 years under the sports medicine curriculum. Randy quickly became a standout on the football team having been awarded the honors of team MVP, as well as, NAIA Div. 1 All-American status. Because of his success both in the classroom and on the football field, Randy’s next step was to try to play in the NFL. He was invited to tryout with the Indianapolis Colts Football Organization and made the team as an undrafted free agent, where he participated on the Colts practice squad during the 94-95 season as a linebacker and strong safety. The years following that, he had invitations for tryouts for the Green Bay Packers, Washington Redskins, & the Milwaukee Mustangs of the Arena Football League. He finished his professional career playing for the Semi-Pro National Championship runner-up, Dupage Eagles as their starting linebacker, as well as, an alternate athletic trainer.

Falling back on his education, Randy received his certifications as an athletic trainer and certified strength and conditioning specialist while working for Downers Grove Sports Medicine, Downers Grove, IL and Holland Chiropractic & Rehab, Westmont, IL. During his tenure, Randy was the Director of Rehabilitation and Sports Performance at both facilities. Even though his professional, athletic career had come to an end, his resolve to heal and train others had never been stronger. He was in charge of all patient rehabilitation at the facilities. Randy was also in charge of supplying the local high schools with athletic training services during practices and games. He was a trainer for Montini H.S. Lombard, IL, Benet Academy H.S. Lisle, IL, Downers Grove South H.S. and Downers Grove North H.S. Downers Grove, IL. He took care of the athletes in every sport at each school, being involved with injury treatment and prevention, but most importantly, getting them back participating in their sport quickly and safely.

For the athletes that were patients or members of the attached training and fitness center, Randy designed sports-specific, off-season, and in-season training regimens geared to optimize each individual’s overall strength & performance. He started and was the head trainer for the “DGSM Speed & Agility Camp,” training upwards of 40 participants per session from local sports teams. Over the span of 5 years, Randy had customized workouts for 22 all-conference, and 3 all-state athletes. 23 of which, received college scholarships, with 6 of them to NCAA Div. 1A institutions.

By this time, Randy was establishing himself as a strong presence in the sports medicine and sports performance fields locally. And a company called Performance Health Technologies, Inc. out of Boulder, CO sought out his help in furthering the design and distribution of a shoulder rehabilitation & proprioception device for professional sports organizations, hospitals, and rehab clinics called the SportsRAC. Randy worked on the team led by physical therapist, Kevin Wilk P.T., who was the Director of Rehab at HealthSouth in Birmingham, AL which is operated by world famous orthopedic surgeon, Dr. James Andrews. Randy was instrumental in the training and placement of these devices in the professional setting which includes NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, colleges, and clinics.

The years of playing a collision sport at a high level takes its toll on the body, and Randy’s body is no exception. As the body gets older it starts to break down. Randy has worked for and seen many doctors in many disciplines. Time and time again, it was chiropractic care, mixed with rehab, that helped him the most. Randy has helped many people, but he felt that he can contribute more to the patient and to the field he loves. So deciding on what discipline to pursue was a given. Dr. Randy Cybulski is a graduate of the National University of Health Sciences and has worked under Dr. Hal Richart for the past 7 years. He specializes in treating the athlete in you. Dr. Cybulski is married and has 3 wonderful children and he is very active in his community volunteering his time and effort with kids, as well as, educating the public through public speaking.
