One requirement to be an effective physician is the ability to accurately diagnose the various conditions presented by each patient. Dr. Richart's chiropractic career has been augmented by his ability to get to the heart of the problem quickly. His 20 years' experience as a Registered Nurse in emergency rooms and intensive care units prepared him to better understand the strengths of the medical field and has helped make him an excellent diagnostician. He worked at many top-rated hospitals in the Chicago area. Dr. Richart uses this experience to 'marry' the best of medicine with excellent chiropractic care to make patients BETTER.

 

A native of Peoria, Illinois, Dr. Richart earned his degree in nursing at the age of 21 from Illinois Central College. He then attended Bradley University and was later accepted to Palmer College of Chiropractic, where he graduated in 1985. His post-doctorate specialty of Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician was earned at National University of Health Sciences. Dr. Richart is a board-eligible diplomate of the American Board of Chiropractic Sports Physicians.

Dr. Richart was invited to be the initial and primary chiropractic liaison to the Chicago Institute of Neuro Research and Neurosurgery (CINN) at Silver Cross Hospital's Grand Rounds project, a bimonthly chiropractic and neurosurgical teaching and case discussion headed by Dr. Ramses Ghaly, MD. He was also published in the Journal of the ACA on his work with the Multidisciplinary Grand Rounds Project.

 

Dr. Richart's experience as chiropractic sports physician for semi-professional football teams, volleyball teams, ringside physician at sanctioned full-contact karate tournaments, biathalons, and other sporting events is reflected in his care of patients who present with injuries of the shoulder, knee, hip as well as spinal injuries. He served as the University of St. Francis chiropractic team physician, as well. Dr. Richart has spent many years working sidelines as a football doctor, and was recognized as a top football physician at the Casino Bowl in Las Vegas.

 

Dr. Richart is certified in CPR, in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and emergency air medical transport. He is also certified in Activator Methods and in Manipulation Under Anesthesia (MUA).

 

A certified Toastmaster and accomplished public speaker, Dr. Richart has been a guest lecturer in many settings. He is also an active member of the Illinois Chiropractic Society (ICS), having served as Northern District President from 2002-2004. He is the Communications Chair of the ICS and he has served on the Board of Directors of the ICS Charitable Foundation.

 

Dr. Hal Richart is married and has two children. Family life is of paramount importance, and this is evident in his care of patients of all ages. He is active in his church, he enjoys riding his motorcycle and music.
